it gives me so much hope to se IMG's are getting surgery
wonder if u wud spare some time to guide me.
2003 grad, in UK since 2004 did Emergency med, ortho, ICU, Gen Surgery.
step 2 ck- 88pc, csa- may 08, step 1 july 08..
i kinda screwed my step 2....do i have any chance of getting surgery -09 match
do u know of any IMG freindly programme whr i can do electives ...
or shud i leave the dream of surgery and just apply medicine?? plz advice

inspite of your scores i think you have a pretty good chance of getting into surgery. reason being you are not a old graduate and have a good amount of foreign experince. how you go around negating the score disadvantage is the real issue here. try scoring as much as possible in step 1 and avoid attempts. try to gather some us experience and good us lors. believe me more than score having decent us experience and more than decent us lors go a long way. plan everything beforehand and execute it well. you will know how fast time flies and you find yourself where many of us are today. all the best. and lastly a lot of places offer observership so you wouldnt have problem finding them.
