Can anyone explain the significance of perfusion vs. diffusion limited gases? Thanks!

I think it is not the property of gases ,it is the state of the respiratory disturbance(situation). in case of pefusion limited situation it is no the matter how much gas you give the person, the gases between pul. and systemic arties will not equilibriate.
on the contrarary ,in diffusion limited situation you can equilibrate.

hi!
perfusion is the amount of gas (o2 or co2 ) that reach the alveolo from vesses and difussion is the amount of gas that reach the alveolo from the air way so if you have problem in perfussion it mean the amount of blood that reach the lung and when you have problem in difussion is for the amount of air tha reach the alveolo.... problem like fibrosis the perfusion is ok but the infusion no..problem like tronbus (in lung) has problem with infusion but not with perfussion.....i hope this help.
