know ECG??? - anee - ArchivalUser - 05-26-2008 The ECG of a 20 year old student shows inverted P waves..The rest seems GENERALLY NORMAL with the ECG...What can it be? 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-26-2008 Dextrocardia?!? Unless it's a premature beat thingy 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-26-2008 Rammar remember the rest of the ecg is generally normal..It's not any premature beat or junctional rhythm.. Hint: There are only two conditions with that look..one is dextrocardia..the other one is the answer of my question.. 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-27-2008 hi anee is it ectopic??? Like junctional rhythm 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-27-2008 Hi sd! well like I mentioned earlier, it's not junctional rhythm... So should I tell you the answer...I wonder where's Alveoli.... Anyways... If the p wave is inverted and the rest of the ecg seems NORMAL, check your limb leads...they might be applied inversely...Just as clue to remember the position of the limb leads..keep in mind that famous mneomonic of Read Your Gree Book ( Red on right upper limb,Yellow on left, Green on left foot and black on right foot)... Also remember that In dextrocardia the p wave is again inverted but the difference from inversely applied leads is that in that case the R wave in the chest leads has inverse progression..i.e it's predominantly positive in V1 and becomes negative in V6... Hope you understood.. Regards to all 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-27-2008 tx... i got it |
