A 32-year-old man comes to the physician because of a 3-day history of low back pain, urinary hesitancy, and pain with urination. He has had several similar episodes over the past 3 years. He has not had any urethral discharge or recent sexual contacts. His temperature is 37.2 C (98.9 F), and blood pressure is 126/76 mm Hg.
