This is in Birmingham right? My senior got his MPH from UAB, it's about 4 hours from Mobile..sabi nya medyo rough daw doon. Let me know how you like it, I'm interested in their forensics fellowship since it's the closest one to where I am right now.

hi everyone! im new here...its nice to hear may thread n ganito for all filipino doctors...btw, im going for the 2010 match too... i applied to peds programs last sept 1 and just patiently waiting for invites (wishful thinking) to come... im a 2007 grad, with low to mid 80s n score in step 1 and ck (1st attempt), ecfmg certified, with USCE and 1 US lor. still hoping i have a chance inspite of my low scores.
anyway, may i know when do they usually start sending email responses in peds program? ang IM and FM dw kc usually october or november, ganun din b s peds? mrami bng filipino mds ang namatch in peds last 2009?
hoping to get advises from everyone....tnx again.

Thanks! Didn't apply to the UAB in Birmingham...I heard during my observership in Alabama na hindi masyadong IMG friendly yung main UAB. My IV is at the UAB branch in Montgomery. Checked it in google, medyo malayo din pala sa Mobile.
Are you familiar with Metrohealth Medical Center in Ohio (Psychia)?

Maganda yung Step 1 score mo, I would recommend you apply now. Waiting until October to apply might be too late....by then the programs will have received hundreds of applicants and might not have the time nor the interest to look through new applications. Matatanggap naman nila yung score mo once it is available...and I've heard of some applicants getting interviews even with incomplete steps. You're a GC holder, and with your score and experience in FM back home think you have a good chance. Just check the program requirements...there were several that says they wont accept applicants without both steps but konti lng yata yun...

@Darevee: Hello! Hmmm I'm not familiar with the Montgomery program. Is that Case Western Metrohealth? It's a good program, they have a big campus..saw it last year when I interviewed at Cleveland Clinic. Case has one of the best forensics fellowship, you get to work with one of the go-to guys in Forensics, Dr. Resnick..something I'm very interested in and again I am getting way ahead of myself. Hehe. When's your interview at Case? Congrats!!
