hello nonoyph,
after program application by September, makakreceive ka ng mga invitations for interview, may nga programs na nag-offer ng prematch during the interview, ibig sabihin hindi mo na kelangan maghintay ng matching, pasik ka na agad sa program, but many of the programs specially the competitive ones sumasali ng match... interviews muna kasi bago i-rank ka ng program saka na matching, u can visit the nrmp website for further information

Hello mga kababayan. Tanong lang sana po, I was offered a prematch and dumating na ang contract, nag apply ako sa categorical FM, yun lang din naman ang option nila since walang preliminary position na offered sa program dun sa ERAS website. Nakalagay ay " enclosed is a copy of the contract for a PGY-1 position at ..... Transitional Year Residency Program. Yun ba ang normal na nakalagay since ang contract ay renew every year para sa 3 yr residency program? Naguluhan ako baket transitional year ang nakalagay ay sa Categorical ako nag apply?

Hi pinkfairy78! Congrats for having pre-matched!! Better clarify your concern with the hospital's PD/PC before you sign/return the contract para makasiguro ka.

To manjes507: Salamat, gusto ko lang makasiguro na baka may mali sa send nila na letter or yun ang tawag nila sa contract ng PGY1. Will talk to the PC tomorrow, Salamat ng marami ulit

Transitional is very different from FM categorical position. DO NOT SIGN it yet until maconfirm mo sa kanila what it really means. Transitional is only for a year and usually naka match na din sila for the second year for another specialty like Ophthalmology, Radiology, etc. Go for the categorical FM pero kung they will reassure you na you they will consider the first year of transitional as your FM intern year and be a second year FM after then go for it. Either way, kung wala talagang better alternative, sign it kasi ang mas importante is to be able to get a position and US experience then everything becomes easier.

like for americans, some of us, call them as "AM BOY"- short term for AMERICAN BOY
Chinese who lived in our country as "CHI NOY"
