Externship - floridaguy - ArchivalUser - 09-03-2008

Hi guys, can anyone tell me in "Experience" part of ERAS, where does Externship and observership belong to? Are they work exp or volunteer? Thanks! Smile

I am under the impression that externship is work experience and observership is voluneer, but I may be wrong..

I just put my observership and externship/preceptorshps under volunteer - as my understanding is - if you dont get paid, it's volunteer work, not work experience!!!!!

If externship is paid then under work experience
if not paid then volunteer, and mention "externship" in position

I have posted a question on forum, please reply

Guys I think its under WORK, because this is what ERAS indicates on that page: "Include Clinical and Teaching experience as work experiences"

Triple: this is what eras says: "Include Clinical and Teaching experience as work experiences"

Externship and observation are both clinical teaching experiences, dont you agree?
