Medicine Residency Program located in Lansing Michigan.
My director has reviewed your application and your application has been put on
hold. This does not mean that we will not offer you an interview; this means
we are not offering you an interview at this time. Our program typically
receives over 800 applications per year. Your application has met our
criteria but was not chosen at this time to be invited for an interview.
If my director chooses to interview you at a later date, I will send you an
invitation via e-mail. Our program only communicates with candidates via
e-mail to avoid miscommunication.
Again, thank you for your interest and we wish you much success in your
career.

That means:
We are receiving more applications. If we get enough who are better than you, then you will not be offerred interview; if not, you will be interviewed.
Even if you go there for IV, I do NOT think you have good chance to be offered a position.
