prematch n step 3 - imagination - ArchivalUser - 10-09-2008

I was wondering, is there any relation betwn prematch and step 3?
I mean if a candidate dont have step 3 can he still b offered prematch? any chance,

or step 3 is (sort of mandatory) to get prematch offer?
I understand the chnces for prematch will increase with st 3, but is it really mandatory?

thnks in advance

You can get a prematch without step3
Most of my friends who got prematched last year didn't have step3
As you said it will increase your chances

looking at the dire competition this year, step 3 will def be a criteria PDs will use to offer a prematch......what do other folks think abt this?

They will be two candidates with similar credentials needing visa.
PD wants to give one pre-match position. He would definitely go for the one who have done Step3.
So simple!

You are right ghost.

I talked to some of the residents and their view is, they would have done better on st 3 during residency compared to before that. Thats why i am double mined, whether to go with it or not.

If the PD has two good candidate without step 3 , then i think he will prefer who does btter on iv.
Another senario, what if i go with st 3 now and score less, will scoring less affect the iv?
Or the best will be to go for exam and just pass it?
