definately DDDD
PAD: Palmar interossei = ADduction
DAB: Dorsal interossei = ABduction

and the ulnar n. is the sole nerve supply of the interossei and it passes behind the medial epicondyle

right ans is pronation

this is NBME form I, the right ans is DDDD, hope99 you are always correct

pronator teres and pronator quadratum both are supplied by the median n.... although median n. lies close to the medial epicondyle, the ulnar n. passes behind the medial epicondyle, and it is the ulnar n. effected in damage/fracture to medial epicondyle

ulnar nerve supplies to only last two finger and half of middle finger its injury will never effect all fingers, since digital finger and middle finger is supplied by median nerve.

bloom ure either talking about the :
flexor digitorum profundus: flexes the distal interphalyngeal joint, medial half (ring and little fingers) supplied by ulnar n., and lateral half (index and middle fingers) supplied by median n. OR
the lumbricals which flex fingers at the metacarpophalyngeal joint and extend them at the interphalyngeal joint, again similar innervation as above
but ALL interossei (which cause abduction and adduction) are supplied by the ulnar n.

remember that the ulnar n. supplies the following muscles of the hand
-all interossei
-medial 2 lumbricals
-adductor pollicus longus
-hypothenar muscles

while the median n. only supplies the following hand muscles
-lateral 2 lumbricals
-3 thenar muscles

i guess ans should be suppination. ulnar nerve cannot effect the all fingers.

0 - ArchivalUser - 10-30-2008

derma plz tell me ure joking...
supinators:
(1) biceps brachii: supplied by the musculocutaneous n. which is located about 10cm above the medial epicondyle
(2) supinator: supplied by the radial n. which passes close to the lateral epicondyle

ulnar nerve injury cause damage to interosse affecting all the adduction of fingers

The dorsal interosseous muscles function to abduct the fingers away from the middle finger. This is in contrast to the palmar interossei, which adduct the fingers.
