I have offline nbme. I just completed one and timed it properly. Now can some1 tell me how to estimate the score, the way they give it online?
like ppl say they have got 510-600 etc. Is there a way I can know how to calculate that.
Also if there is not.. can som1 tell how bad/good it is if one scores 50-55% correct answers.
I'll be glad if som1 can help me with this.

I read on forum for ofline nbme multiply ur score by 1.5 or 1.4 & that is equivalent to nbme online eg if u have 110/200 ofline= 165/350 online

hi seri,
when is your exam(date) ? your score is kind 'ok' but see to get a decent score one should score above 140 in nbme , that what i know.

I was kinda depressed after doing 1st block of u-world as i scored low... so just went ahead and did NBME just to assess where i stand or if i even stand
hope everything works out good. I was an average student in med school but i din use to study there. I always thought if i study well, ill score v. good. But yesterday I realized I am below average. So i kinda got disturbed and was wondering if i should postpone my exam and apply for 2011 match rather than 2010.

yes actually it is out of 800....but it gives equivalence to usmle score...eg it will give u 2 scores....
nbme 390= 190 step1
and then we hav to figure out how much 190 =in usmle which should be around78%

I guess it will be better if i take it after one month online.. i tried to calculate and landed somwhere around 460... I dont know still if i calculated it right or wrong so m not judging myself by it

be careful not to over estimate because it says you need a 35% on kapplan q bank to get a passing on usmle. acording to that link http://www.clinicalreview.com/USMLECalculator.php i would assume you need more that 35% per block to pass on the real exam
