You definitely need at least one Path letter. You can use the better one, and the other two you can use the ones from here.

From experiences of past applicants in Path, this is one field in which interviews don't typically come ealry on. Thats what I have learned. May be early rejections are entirely on basis of objective criteria - score cut offs, visa issues, done by the secretary and not the PD.

As far as I recall, Mt. Sinai (NY) sent out IVs in the second week of September, which was the earliest. I only got 2 IVs in September, both of which were from big-name programs. Most of my IVs came in early October. My IV season ended in mid November. Hope it helps.

cherryho, it is so nice of you to come back and answer questions for the new applicants. I remember that you had an interview in Baylor college of medicine last year, did you also get that invitation in October?

Is there prelim in pathology ? if so,is't difficult to get prelim?

thanks mdphd,but my concern was that maybe the patho people will think im not interested in patho only if i send peds and im letter tto them?since those letters kinda recommend me 4 those specialties,saying im devoted to children..etc.the im leter states from a pd he intends to take me to his program..wat do u advise now???thnx a lot...my application is pending simply due to my confusion on this..
any help appreciated

it is kind of confusing to PD too, what you want? you want us but talk about someone else. it is my opinion only. either very general letter don't specify any speciality or very specific to path
