I did some math. For Psychiatry, last year there were 1063 PGY 1 positions on offer. The total number of applicants was 2000. Obviously a chunk of IMGs had it as backup. If this is the trend this year as well, I guess we have a competition of two guys battling for one position.

hey bro!

meself, 84/75/passed, 6 mo Observership, four LoRs, one each from Psych consultant, IM Asst. Professor, Pediatrician and superintendent of the Hospital. Psych doctor and IM professor recommended me specifically into Psychi and I had em waive my right to see.
I am an Old Grad as well. 2002.

none so far. A seven year period since Graduation and low scores are perhaps the reasons. Your scores are just right for Psych but my Step 2 is low. I am not very optimistic. This is my first and last try. I'll join Psychi in India if I don't get in.
