noo..its not pathognomonic of UC, its can also be found in CD.

yeah acc to UW:

Crypt abscesses are characteristic of CD; however, they are not pathognomonic of CD.
Crypt abscess following cryptitis may also be seen in UC.

But I think Crypt abscesses and ulcers are characteristic of UC for USMLE purpose.
C. jejuni can also cause crypts abscesses.
