thank u 4 d info, but sa mariott na 0.3 miles fr soundshore ang ni book ko and i've checked the shuttle, hindi sya umaabut din eh...kaya worried ako sa transpo...also, is there such a thinkg as unlimited na metro card? me nakita ako, but di ko lam kung meron pa or no more...jan pa interview ko, 1 aND only un....kaya feel ko mejo malabo...am studying for step3, but lumilipad lipad utak ko kya decided to ask around abt new york..worried din ako kc super lamig daw eh, bibili pa nga ng damit kc nasa califor nia ako now, eh nasa 60s temp, ginaw na ginaw nako...

Hi everyone! Malamig na nga at kelangan paghandaan. Make sure you dont schedule your interviews too close to each other. Make sure you have room for flight cancellations, etc etc. Mabuti na ang sigurado. Yes, jackets, scarves, gloves, boots, thermal undergarments and bonnets. The works! Mabuti na ang handa sa battle. Always bring: copies of your documents: transcripts, CVs, LORs, USMLE grades, diploma, etc. Do not be late. Present yourself well. And bring your best self during the interview.
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, so do not forget to send out emails to the PDs/PCs/residents.

cheila, merong $30 dollar ata na metrocard, unlimited for a week yun. sa subway ka bibili. break your dollar into 10s and 5s para mabilis ka. safe naman new york. kung tiga-manila ka, ganun lang ang new york. almost
0.3 miles, pwede ka taxi. plus 20% tip sa cab. malapit lang yun. bumili ka ng thermal wear sa uniqlo. mura at usable.
kung may iphone ka, download mo apps na to kasi di kailangan wifi:
1. metro
2. nyc metro
the second one kelangan wifi. use google map. punta ka muna sa lugar na may wifi, pin mo location nung lugar, tapos sundan mo na lang without wifi. the first app is really useful.

dear puto, tnx 4 d tip...fr jfk airport, pwede ba ako makabili na nung unlimited na metro? nabasa ko, pwede din daw ung card na un sa bus?? tsaka ano ung uniqlo?? store? sorry, ha lots of question...sige i will try to borrow iphone for dat purpose, low tech na nokia galing pinas ang dala ko, na d naman pwede gamitin unless me emergency....

@cheila: sensya na medyo na-busy nde ko na-check ang forum. puto is correct. kung nde ka naman matagal sa NY i suggest reload as needed na lang para tipid. fixed ang fare one-way kahit na gaano ka pa kalayo pupunta at kahit na kailangan maglipat ng train. pwede mo rin gamitin ang same metrocard sa bus.. at kung nde ako nagkakamali.. paglabas mo from the subway at kunwari kailangan mo pa mag-bus after.. libre yung bus fare (pero kailangan mo pa rin i-swipe yung card). bili na ng thermal, winter coat at gloves. by jan snowtime na at malamig na talaga. super agree sa metro app!! kung nde nman, pwede mo rin gamitin ang google map or better yet hopstop sa net.
subukan ko hanapin ang marriot hotel mo at try ko mag-map out ng route. ano email mo?

from jfk, airtrain sasakyan mo palabas ng airport. merong mga machines dun. yes, pwede ka na makabili ng card. or, bili ka metrocard, then reload mo lang. nasa machine na lahat ng icons na kailangan mo. suggestion ko lang is doon ka sa machine na wala halos pila para kahit 10 minutes ka, okay lang. walang okray.metrocard pwede sa subway at bus.
yung mtero app, super helpful. before you leave, use google map sa iphone. pin mo na locations mo then hanapin mo nearest exit ng metro sa lugar. habang nasa train ka, makikita mo arrow ng gps mo na umiilaw, or something like that.
experiment ka lang. i hope konti lang bagahe mo.
uniqlo is a japanese store. makakabili ka ng thermal wear dun. sabi pa ni werewolf, mdi ka lalamigin. 1 degree higher iinit mo.
