@ doc_enaj- kaya mo yang mga steps mo.Smile ako medyo may time constraints na rin sa 2012 match pero I'll try pa rin kasi kung hindi, lalo akong mapapalayo sa year of grad ko.
Regarding naman sa mga programs na naresearch ko, meron silang deadline of submission ng applications, doesn't have to be Sept 1. Ang kaso, karamihan ng applicants nag aaply na as early as possible para makakuha ng IVs. Kasi karamihan daw ng programs, tinatry na daw i-fill out ang slots nila during that time.
Ask ka Lang if you have questions. Ang saya naman.. Ka batch tayo sa matching. Smile

Hay..medyo di na kasi ako fresh grad kaya eto trying to build up my creds para ma offset yung ibang odds. US citizen ako pero no USCE pa. Plan to do volunteer work para at least makatulong while waiting for an externship or something.di rin kasi makapagtravel as of now eh. Hopefully mamatch tayo for next year. God bless

@doc_enaj - di pa ako tapos. Kukunin ko pa lang CK ko this coming August than CS sa November. Nahihirapan ako magreview kasi may dalawa akong baby na inaalagaan. Kailangan talaga ng sacrifices. I need to give up my work for the review and at the same time to take care of my kids. Good luck

@chelsieanne02 - naku pag-iisipan ko pa talaga if i should push through sa 2012 match..marami pa talagang kulang sa credentiials ko..pero sabi nga ng isang friend ko "how would you know if ur adequate if you don't give it a shot?'..hehe..at least pag itinuloy ko ang pag apply may kakilala na akong kabatch! =)..mahirap din kasi mag-isa kasi ala kang mapagtanungan..at least supportive ang kapwa pinoy docs..=)

@noypi: naku hirap nga talaga ng situation mo..ako di ata kakayin ang study at the same time mag-alaga ng kids..astig!kaya nga siguro i'm doing USMLE in a fast pace mode habang wala pa akong own family..feeling ko kasi 2x ang hirap pag may own family and kids na..nweis, goodluck sa mga succeeding steps..ako CK ko is on july and CS on aug.. =)

I have nothing against you applying this 2012. I just hope that you weigh all the pros and cons. Consider also that every year, it is getting tougher and tougher to get in, that is why it is much wiser (for me) to apply with all your credentials shining and bright and complete. Eto lang ang aking opinion. It is definitely up to you on how to go about your application process. Ipagdasal mo ng mabuti. Good luck!

Congrats to all who matched this year!! Smile

doc_enaj: I thought I saw your post at Pinoymd. I joined the match will all step scores ready plus USCE, figure I'd need all the help I could get since I barely passed step 1 plus my year of graduation was > 5yrs. Everybody knows the match gets more competitive each year, it would only be logical to apply with everything you have to boost you app. Given that, one could join the match with a few step scores, however getting matched with just those in hand is a different matter altogether. If you think you can match with what you have now, go for it.

hello
i'm new here, but i'll jump right in, (please)
i have a question...about the MPSE...my school kc, told me that i will have to be the one to do the letter and they will just sign it...how is that possible, considering it's a comparison with your batch mates??? HELP!!!!!
also, can anybody please help as to which hospital i can apply to who don't requre USCE? it's very expensive kasi to do that eh and I still have to help out in the finances here at home (manila) pa...oh, and it doesn't get better, I'm an old grad, more than 10 years...currently practicing in manila...
thank you very much

Hi cheila,

our school aslo requires us to do the MSPE. that is actually better, para you can write whatever you want hehe. you just need to do the "LOR" or essay part, just saying how good you are as a student/intern (no comparison needed for that part). then submit that to them then they will do the charts comparing you with other students. that's how it was with us.

regarding USCE, i did not do any formal USCE, i just did observerships, better than 0 USCE diba hehe. If may kilala ka na private practitioner, you can ask them to let you observe in their clinics. or if wala, hanap ka sa internet, that helped me. choose the filipino MDs mas ok pa if same school mo graduate, they are most of the time helpful, pero usually you'll need to go to their clinic and ask them personally, and give your CV. Smile

also try UF, not the one in gainsville, i forgot basta the one in jacksonville. they have a form sa website nila for USCE, check mo, di ko lang sure if free. nakita ko kase yun during matching na eh so di ko na na investigate Smile
