Q 2 , if u have Thiamine deficiency, will u develop wet or dry type??

0 - ArchivalUser - 07-25-2010

you can develop either one or both

Wet is due to lack of vit b1 in myocytes that is required for TCA cycle for energy generation..

no B1.. no energy generation and patient present with CHF thats wet beri beri..

and again in neurons vit B1 necessary for myelination.. no B1. no proper myelination.. and patient present with neuropathy.. dry beri..
