As I'm sure you are aware, psychiatry has become an increasingly competitiveresidency. The combination of a limited number of interview slots and a poolof many well-qualified applicants means that we are unable to interview all ofthe applicants with the potential to be excellent residents. Unfortunately, wewill not be inviting you for an interview at our program. Thank you for yourpatience and I hope you are successful in your quest for residency training. Sincerely,Wendy Thompson, MDResidency Training DirectorDepartment of Psychiatry and Behavioral ScienceNew York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center

Good luck to all of you...

Stay strong and keep the faith. Your inner strength will get you thru these uncertain times!

I have no advice but to be yourself. Be open in your answers.

And practice, practice, practice your interview. Challenge yourselves and the interview is everything in psychiatry.
