what is the Indication for iv tmp smx in HIV? UW CCS says something and books say something?

if want to give prophylaxis then give orally...if you want to treat than give IV..

if u have done uw ccs, it says differently

its ok..nothing is wrong..we can treat pt in both way...orally or IV..but IV is better one..

IV is better if the patient is admitted, can not take PO or has nausea or vomiting.
IV is also better in severe PCP such as with increased a-a gradient , low po2 etc because it has more predictable bioavailability than po
