My experience - dcosta - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 1. Time for prep - 8 weeks (averaging 3 hrs/day) divided in 1st read (MTB) during 1st half with some questions from UW online, and 2nd review in the 2nd half with quick review of MTB and more focused on UW questions; I had written Step 2 CK 4 years ago. 2. UW score - all question on tutor mode, subject wise, average around 68% 3. CCS - UW is enough, but dr red's lecture helps to master the software (if you have time and can afford, go for it); I got good score on this part even though my strict agenda left me only with 2 and a half days to go through UW material 4. Self-assessments - only did the USMLE CD, got around 80% of the questions right. I strongly recommend doing, you might get some of those questions in the real exam 5. The exam - Every story is unique, but I agree with most people's posts that it is a marathon (the most tiring of the 3 steps); since your score is correlated to others', at the end you always feel you did bad but might be surprised with a good score; sat for the exam on the 16th and 17th of september 6. Result - 97/227. I would say that it is fairly what I'd expect based on my feelings and scores on the prior steps. It was releases on the 6th of october (3rd wednesday after the exam, I thought it would come only on the 4th since I sat for the exam on saturday) Summary: focus (which means also not going for a lot of material, unless you have to fill in gaps due to poor background; in my case, only MTB, UW and dr red's lecture for CCS), patience and support (this forum, family and friends play a major role to keep your mood up) Good luck ! 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 Congratulations.
