Passed step 3 : Oh ! mle is complete. - schwetz - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 No I dint get a good score ..barely passing...77 in step 3...had some serious issue in step 3 ccs and was scared to hilt. But God saved me. my 4 cases didnt close well in time and 5 did...and on the top of it out of the 4 which closed in one of the case which was technically my first case I out of sheer nervousness forgot to do Physical examination in first go...I realised this mistake after I sent home after first visit.Well patient was stable but it is by no doubt a GROSS mistake which my nervousness put me into.I did the full exam on second visit.Patient didnt need any rx on first visit as such but I was aghast at my ownself when i realised it. My destiny was really out to have all takes on me that day..I typed to add frucemide and I didnt notice software actually added fructosamine (i didnt notice) ...dont know how...may be my cursor selected one below in shakiness...i dint realise this mistake until end of second day of patient in hospital besides being 19th minute of my case..I added it the moment I realised but it is so inappropriate to add it on second day.One typing error/selection costed me this. I was literally in tears. The effect of first two cases lingered...forgot to order major investigation in one of the post procedureI thought it was part of procedure .But it wasnt actually. Bottom line is I still passed ...with bad score of 77 but it is first attempt. I wud love to help anyone if I cud do for someone. Whole intention of post is that I had 5 absoultely right cases and with 4 significant suboptimal mistakes in protocol but didnt cost patients their lives. None of my patient died or was misdiagnosed.Even in 4 cases I was late did 100 % of job or was in time but did 75% of the stuff right . I was very stressed out and spent this nightmarish days to wait for result. I was very sure I am failing and having this blemish on me. Before opening the result I also watched on youtube the episode 73 of Mahabharata where Krsihna tells Arjuna that," You could be best archer but you can miss if the your target moves its ownself after your arrow has left your bow. Alternatives available for a man are just limited to his choice of actions and not to the eventual outcome..so detach yourself from that outcome and pleasure or agony associated it . I was thinking that I would handle defeat in mature way.. But I passed thankfully...so outcome has positivity in the sense that I did in first go...So I am okay even with less marks. "what I want to say is that even with four berserk cases , one has probability of passing.if someone gets stuck in this loop this way..dont dry your own blood during 21 days like I DID " Good luck Guys! 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 congrats!! 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 your story is very inspiring... congratulations and good luck for your better future.... 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 congrats you are done with usmle 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 Congrats and good luck 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 congralations! 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 good u passed i passed last week .its the same i have no iv even with 84 in step 3 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 i m sorry i thoght its match forum. passing step 3 is big acheivement .didnt want to discourage you 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-06-2010 congrats and all the best for match... can you pls share your study materials.. i am planning to study from kaplan step2 ck notes, crush and UW...is that enough??
