moofmonster... you are projecting ur thinking about preinterview dinner...may be its just the free dinner for you
but for us preinterview dinner is mini interview in a friendly environment and program judge candidates thru it too
anyways I m sorry to say that your thinking is very cheap

A preinterview dinner is great for someone with great communication skills and an affable personality. I never recommend it to IMGs who make these informal affairs into painful awkward social events with a lot of stuttering.
