A 23 year old is admitted in the hospital for asthma exacerbation. He develops a penile lesion. On examination, there are multiple painful vesicles with erythematous base. What is the next step?
1.Tzank smear
2. start acyclovir

Correct. In HSV infection, if there are clear vesicles, we dont have to do any further diagnostic studies. Start acyclovir.
On CCS, I think we should do Tzank smear.
