@ Sarim, Maryam, anyone,NBME 7 block 2 question 39 - drwinusmle - ArchivalUser - 07-27-2011

Could you please help me understand why is it not "E" decreased renal blood flow? My understanding is that ACE ---> efferent arteriole constriction and that slows down the flow of plasma and--->increase time/duration for filtration---->increase GFR and due to this FF is increased. Choice A in the question is increased FF and I agree with that but I am unable to comprehend that why did they also give decreased renal blood flow in the choice. I think there is some thing wrong with my concept here, please help me to clarify. Thanks!

Hi
because of autoregulation the renal blood flow (in the presence of angiotensin II infusion) will not be changed .
