Plus because of the acute shortage, I am sure that the job market for child psychiatrists is excellent. What would the situation be 5-6 years from now, that I cannot say.

No. Not necessarily. But it depends on the individual program directors and what kind of impression u left with them. I didn't receive any response for my thank you email from Univ. Of Tennessee, even though the P.D told I was a good candidate, during the interview.
