The drugs that have been
shown to limit infarct size in patients with an MI
include metoprolol (and other beta-blockers), thrombolytics,
and aspirin. Nitroglycerin, heparin, oxygen,
and morphine are all useful in treating angina and
MI, but there is not good evidence that they limit
infarct size.
