CCS: Which CXR to pick, lateral, portable, etc? - apple09 - ArchivalUser - 10-21-2011 How do we know which type of CXR to pick on CCS? 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-22-2011 depends on the condition of the patient::::; 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-25-2011 yea, so when do we pick which CXR based on common patient scenarios on CCS? 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-25-2011 always portable in the ER PA and lateral in office Simple reason is that ER patient is too unstable to be transported to radiology dept for pa and lateral 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-26-2011 agree with misshyd just to add one thing ER we have limited time so portable becos results of portable CXR come back in 30 mins. 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-27-2011 Thank you, but don't we need PA and Lateral in ER if its someone with a perforated ulcer? 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-27-2011 perforated peptic ulcer is a different issue. You can do a portable cxr here but should be done in upright position. An upright portable CXR or Plain abdomen x-ray in left lateral decubitus position are very good to see for air under diaphragm and pneumoperitoneum respectively. |
