I intervieqwed there. what exactly u wanna know. the reviews are really not good. almost nil fellowship chance, even the faculty who interview u will tell u that. attendings not very friendly. lots of work, too many african american ppl i wud say> 90% many HIV positives. the only good thing is that they giv H1 in case u r an IMG .
the area bronx is not safe to live too

I live in Europe and I have an interview scheduled on 29th Dec. I am in a dilemma whether to make an expensive trip all the way to attend this interview ? What would you recommend ?
Did u get a chance to talk to the residents and tour the hospital ? What was your impression about the hospital?

my experience i have told u . thats what i feel abt this program. will be ranking it last. i did meet one intern but she was not very eager to tell nething, dint seem very happy to me abt the program. took the tour of the hospital , that was ok but we r more concerned abt the patient population then the hospital itself.
as for coming here, i wud say it depends on how many more interviews u have got. n how eager u r to do a residency here. if desperate ne place like lincoln is ok.or , u prefer to wait for better options, its all upto u.

also how would one know 90% patients are HIV positive ? did somebody in the hospital (residents ) tell you?

read it on a site. it might b a exaggeration but still its quite high

Some other questions: did u talk to chief residents?what did they have to say about their program? what did the program director say about their program?was the neighbourhood very scary or seem dangerous to u ? (sorry u may find some of my q very stupid but I need to know before I take some stand..)

i dint meet the chief resident or the program director......they dint let us meet ne1 except that 1 first yr resident. as for neighbourhood i dint like it . cant say scary but just dint like it. it may be a subjective feeling ........
