MULTIPLE attempts and MATCHED!!! - conoro - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 I saw many threads on the topic but didn't want to comment until I knew my Match status. I can now tell you that it IS possible to Match with multiple attempts and am living proof of it. You definitely need to maximize your personal statement, have good LOR's and ace your interview(s). A tip that seemed to work for me was to try contacting residents before your interview and strike up a conversation. I did this before all of my interviews and after many email exchanges these residents ended up putting in good words for me before the rank list meeting and it seems like it paid off. Anyhow, my stats: 218/92 (2nd attempt) 218/93 (2nd attempt) CS- PASS (2nd attempt) YOG - 2008 No step 3, pubs, etc. GC Good luck to all future applicants. 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 thats good conoro.. many congrats to you.. 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 that's great.......inspiring to many people......... 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 congrates........r u an IMG or AMG???what was ur visa status???? 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 @bismaali IMG with Green Card 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 Congrats!! did you know the residents beforehand? 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 @goddoc No. I just pulled up the program website and looked for resident lists. If it didn't have their emails I looked at the emails listed of faculty for a trend (lastname.firstinitial@schoo.edu) etc. and took a guess. Many didn't reply, but those who did were very helpful not only to put in a good word in regards to ranking, but ins and outs of the program and interviewers so that you could be very well prepared for the interview. 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 congrats!! really happy for u...i have a few doubts..and i will be applying this yr..i would be glad if u could add me on Skype or gimme ur Skype id..mine is drmints...thank u sooo much...did u get the interviews with some contacts?.. 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 Congratssssssssssssssssssss 0 - ArchivalUser - 03-12-2012 IMMED HELP for Unmatched.. see TOP GOOGLE RESULT for USMLE courses, free university externships, physician assistant scholarships, high yield programs with no score requirements https://www.usmleforum.com/ |
