In "Acute phase" of HIV infection, the viral load spikes and then declines (red graph). This decline in viral load is in response to the action of which type of cells ?

well that is CD8

yes cytotoxic CD8

yes CD8+ response is the most important factor to control initial viremia.

CD8+

correct.

it is CD8+ response against HIV infected cells that brings the initial rise in viral load down which is correlated with some increase in CD4+ count as u can see in the blue graph.

CD8+ cells control the initial viremia but cant eradicate it...also enhance effect of CD8+ is bcz of CD4+ cells...but then of course CD4+ cells are also them self infected...so CD8+ cells also kills CD4+ cells that decline the number of CD4+ cells....moving towards AIDS....
