my step3 experience - hopefor99 - ArchivalUser - 05-30-2012 first day was difficult questions were lengthy and vague second day was easy ,questions were not that lengthy my all ccs cases ended before time but i am not sure about 2 cases because cases ended before pt update, i dont know whether i did good on that if u know uworld cases u r good ,presentation is little diff and mixed my 2 cents give time to ccs if u want to pass this exam for theory do uworld and archer do uworld in timed mode and try to make a reflex of finishing each block before time coz i answered 2 to 3 q blindly in every block when should i expect my result ,will it be on 6th or after 3 weeks i will be glad to answer any q 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-30-2012 contraulations for doing this monster and good luck for your result ihave some qs for you : did you find usmle world mcq concepts tested in your exam? did you study any family medicine book like JONSON, is it necessary for preparing for this exam? did you do any NBME before setting for the exam? thanks 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-30-2012 Thank you for your exam experience, I have some questions: How did you score on NBME and was the length of the questions on real exam similar to the NBME? How many audio/media questions did you have? How many abstract/drug ads? How was difficulty of the questions on Day 1 compared to NBME? 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-31-2012 Hi thanks for sharing your experience How many UW cases did u practice? is 52 cases from UW enough? Can you please elaborate more about yr study materials and exam experiences..thanks a lot 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-31-2012 Christine, I think the UW cases are enough.. but I have not taken the exam yet. But let me share my thinking.. Every UW case has like 5-6 differentials, so even if you are in the end solving one case, the approach is the same for most of those differentials. For example, if your case is Rheumatoid Arthritis.. wouldn't your approach be the same for Osteoarthritis? You would just use different medications and make minor adjustments here and there, but the general management would be the same. So the coverage is quite broad. Although Step 2CS was much easier than CCS, all we practiced was First Aid 30 cases in their book because it broadly covered all the necessary topics through differentials. 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-31-2012 hi ,u will do great. my questions are which course of archer u took,,archer notes, live lectures;which one is best to do? archer qs are the one available free at the site or u bought it. i wanna do second reading with archer ,i would b thankful if u answer my qs 0 - ArchivalUser - 05-31-2012 Am extremely nervous, have exam tomorrow.
