by using paper, you are hastening the global warming, and it doesnt improve your ranking!

so email works good

I was sending cards and hand written letters initially to PDs but no response was coming out. Now I have started emailing them. Atleast some of them have replied. So it is not the matter of email or hand written or cards. It all depends on your interview and credentials.

thanks mammon, you're right, what kind of cards you sent?

I usually email them right after and follow up with a "Thank You" card (the ones you buy at Hallmark stores, packs of 10 or 20) and hand write a few lines & reiterate my interest. I have gotton responses to both from programs.
