Job offer as a PA near Syracuse in FM - drpepper4u - ArchivalUser - 12-27-2013

Any input would be appreciated. Would this look good on my CV next year if I really wanted IM? I don't know what else to do because I am not matching this year. I know it!

Also I cannot apply to residency programs in NY due to restrictions.

Are you qualified to practice as a PA? There are PA schools, residencies, licensing, just as MDs. Have you done that?

Well apparently I won't be a licensed PA but I will be doing what PAs do. I won't be able to prescribe medications. It's just like being a medical student all over again but as a assistant to the physician. I assumed its a good hands on experience right? But it's for a FM clinic

Sorry I just realized I called it a "PA" causing confusions. I should have quoted it. I won't be a real PA. Just a "PA" or AP (assistant to the physicians) Smile

Thanks for your input

Ah. I would think any clinical experience is a plus. Maybe you can get a good letter too.

Thanks blueamg! I hope this job goes through. Nothing has gone through for me but I hope this does so I can match next year.

I have to say blueamg, u are unlike most AMGs that I've encountered during interviews. The majority view IMGs as lepers who keep contact at a minimum.

Medical Assistant

@nrmp201: I think that's a better job title. They told me "PA" but MA is a better job description.
