Hi,
My posts of late have gathered serious criticism.
I have been accused of spreading panic with malicious intent.
But I dont have no good reason to do so.
I am 3rd year Internal Medicine Resident in New York. I am IMG on H1 Visa.
So, why am I posting on this forum???
I have several juniors from my home country and from my own medical school who have good scores (double 240 and double 250) and they have no attempts on CS as well but they are having hard time matching for last couple of years. They are all fresh graduated but still are not finding any luck.
This should not have been the case, given their credentials.
So, this Fact made me curious and and I started searching for more FACTS.
I found that US medical school enrolment are rising rampantly more so in DO.
But, very few seats are being increased in PGY1 positions.
I am not trying to create panic.
But, once the number of American grads equal the total seats in PGY1 there will be no hope for any IMG. This is the real fact.
Everyone needs to accept it and plan their future accordingly.
Thats my only intention.

Hey guys
Don't be fooled. Residency was always competitive in the US and will continue to be, may be more. There will be IMGs in the US residency always ( even after 2020).As you might have known, Obama budget proposes 13000 more residencies in coming 10 years.

they dint match in 2013. 2014....
