New and late in the process last year, CMU invited pretty much everyone, including me, no matter YOG.

This year however, just found out that they are looking to graduates within the last 2 years only. What a waste of money. Those programs should be forced to put that information out there, even when they decide to change it. Damn it.

@ docgm:

I think all the IMGs should know about the 2 yrs rule............. even b4 taking the USMLEs.....
this is not just fair................... waste of time, waste of money, waste of energy, waste of youth...........

When I was within 5 years, a few IM programs told me, well your scores are good, but our programs want to see passed step 3. when I passed step 3, it was an issue of change in passing score of USMLE and the exclusion of two digit scores ! somehow, 240 became an averge number !!!which was around 215-225 when I first took the exam ! ck passing score jumped to 209 while it was 189 when I took.....!!! and now my YOG has crossed 6 years !
US hospital rotations, US externship, US research experience, passed step 3, green card all together are now enough for IV invitations !!! It was the biggest wrong decision of my life to take the USMLEs probably.............. no one to blame....... it was my own decision, a wrong decision probably......
