Tartrate Resistant Acid phosphatase only in HCL? - freshmind1 - ArchivalUser - 01-08-2015

TART only found in HCL or is it also found in other leukemia too? FA says only in HCL.

Hi freshmind1

I think you mean TRAP.
TRAP is an enzyme found in osteoclasts and other similar cells, like monocytes, macrophages, etc.

TRAP is positive in Hairy Cell Leukemia, and also in Gaucher's disease, and in other pathologies involving increased osteoclastic activity such as osteoporosis, and bone malignancies.

Hope your prep is going well.
