Peds vs IM - 2by2 - ArchivalUser - 02-19-2015

I interviewed for both program. Sincerely, I have no preference for either. Assume that the two programs are equal in quality, which field offers better opportunities after residency?

They are both pretty much the same. Just the obvious difference of kids vs adults. Thats up to you to figure out which you want to treat long term

if my suggestion count - try not to do peds. Pay sucks and jobs will be relatively limited.

@qamar: very incorrect Smile

@2by2 : I agree with @ranker2015 ... though you should be decided about specialty on your own. Don't go into peds if you don't have patience dealing with kids/parents

$$$$ talks.

IM over Peds any days, unless you can establish a practice fast and buy out a retired peds

IM makes more $$$ than peds... But there are exceptions as said by board review. I know FM physicians who make way more than IM.
I all depends on you run your practice
