Actually I am confused ,can anybody tell me where can I read the mechanism of drug resistance?

thanks

try to remember the picture or figures given in first aid that should help

ok ,I need to know which resistant mechanism for which MO.

lets start ,please write what you know ,all my friends ,

1. Vanco resistant staph aureus :
2.Methicillin resistant staph aureus
3.beta lactamase resistant
4. meropenem resistancy
5.chloramphenicol resistancy
6.macrolid resistancy
7......

please answer what you know and add what other you know

thanks

1.vancomycin resistance to satph.aureus is through transposition van A gene from enterococcus but generally bacteria develop resisitance by altering d-ala-d-ala aminoacid to d-ala-d-lac

2.MRSA is by structural change in penicillin binding proteins

3 and 4..carbpenems also same as cephalosporins and penicillins structural change in PBP(transpeptidases)

5 ..MOA - binds to ribosomal 50s and inhibit peptidyl transferase enzyme right ....resistance is by plasmid encoded acetytransferase inactivates the drug

6. MARCOLIDES- formation of methyltransferases that alters drug binding sites(methylation of 23 rRNA binding site)
