I know it's early but I'm starting to get worried. No interviews, one rejection. Second time applying for psych, but I just keep hearing that it has gotten a lot more competitive. I have a bunch of red flags ( low step 1, one attempt ck, repeated course in med school). I only want psych and only applied to psych, but do you think I should apply to another speciality (family med) also? Thanks for any info! 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-07-2015 I saw your post freduianslip908. I think you should apply to FM if you have FM LOR. I heard FM is the same, they want at least a FM LOR. Otherwise you wasting cash. But if you do, I say go for it. 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-07-2015 *** 2016 RESULTS SO FAR (FOR EVERYONE) *** INVITES: Mount Sinai Beth Israel - fitzchiv, rukahs LSU OLOL - fitzchiv, ducky, darkfusion LSU Oschner Program - oxytocin07 Community Health Network, Indianapolis - duckson, fitzchiv Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital - marso, darkfusion, tcgu KU at KC - ducky, darkfusion UICOM-Peoria - ducky BRMC- darkfusion, duckson SIU - aadi007 Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center - tcgu UCONN Health - duckson Rosalind Franklin - rukahs Detroit Medical Center (Wayne University) - fitzchiv REJECTIONS: Univ. of Colorado SOM New York Presbyterian Columbia Campus LSU OLOL - Baton Rouge Program Summa Health/NEOMED Program Univ of Tennessee Creighton Nebraska Advocate Lutheran, IL Medical College of Wisconsin Washington University/B-JH/SLCH University of Toledo Univ. of Utah Univ. of Vermont 0 - ArchivalUser - 10-07-2015 Is it too late to apply for Psychiatry? Obviously, you must research program deadlines. But this information is readily available on their websites. Also, I read your concerns about YOG. My opinion is do not worry! Stay positive and build your CV. People 10 years out match. Anything is possible! |
