Have people found step 3 to be of any benefit?

@aybabtu: Well I took the step 3 exam in August, and got my passing score the first week of September. I passed it on my first attempt and felt it would be a good addition to my application. I have zero invs up to now. I am a US citizen, US college graduate, Carib grad (not from top 4 carib schools) and the only failure I have is on my step 2 cs (passed on 2nd attempt). So I'm not sure what to tell you. If you can take it and get it over it I would do it, but I'm not too sure how much it actually helps.

I think if you have interviews, it may help with ranking? A program director straight up told me that I'd be ranked higher with step 3 in the bag.

Still early. A lot of USIMGs/FMGs don't get interviews till November. The ones that do get some this early are the exception.

I know other people from my school that are residents and they had 0-2 till November. Then by March they had 15 interviews somehow. So just hang tight.

And as I said. Of all the IV's I got the only ones that are filled are Beth Israel (which normally doesn't have IMG/FMG on their website, so have a feeling this is a lost cause, and LSU)

Rest of places had interview mid october till January opened.

As fitzchiv told,Beth Isreal do not have much img residents in their website.Same is the case with emory university. But if you look up websites like frieda they are shown to be img friendly. Dont understand this mismatch.

@sumakiran Sorry, I listed out names of people who I didn't recognize as folks who shared their info but you indeed did post creds very early on. Thanks man.

@marso
That's fine. I understand. All of us are in same boat. Let's encourage mutually and hope to get IV and match.
Good luck with the Match season.
