I just got off of the phone with ACGME and learned that you can follow the most updated info for newly accredited programs which are granted after their periodic meetings. Well there are some newly accredited programs some are just now being put into ERAS for this season others are not. You can do your own research on this here:

Here is their number (312.755.5000) and if you call just ask how can you get the most updated information on new programs. These hospitals are answering the call to control the shortage of doctors.
Here are the steps that I was told to take: acgme.org-->data collection systems--->accredited programs and sponsoring institutions--->list of newly accredited programs and then you should be able to navigate from there, but I have included the link above anyway.

If it's not in ERAS yet then you know that it is brand spanking new and you just need to make your calls and do your verification.

I don't think we can apply now. Even if we do, interview won't be coming. Maybe in SOAP we can try our luck if God forbid we don't match.. :S

There was a case this week of a program rushing interviews after getting approval on Monday. That is how I got the idea to call about others, but I would guess that it was an extremely rare occasion. Who knows maybe others. I don't know.
