clonidine acts by having some regulating effect on hypothalamus. it may be a perfect choice for reducing hot flashes in post mp women with hot flashes who are also hypertensive

clonidine is a good one--not only a antihypertensive-it can be used for hot flushes .

there are other two situation in which it can be used--what are those?

had to think really hard djyoti , if you had something else in mind besides these two, please let me know.-

clonidine is also used for 1)pts in rehab during withdrawal from narcotic addictions 2) one of its side effects is sedation, so for its calming effect, its sometimes used in adhd .
