Visiting Research Fellow: Cleveland Clinic Florida - malone - ArchivalUser - 10-19-2017 Cleveland Clinic Florida, Levitetz Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Visiting Research Fellow Goals • Investigate basic and clinical aspects of the disease processes affecting the musculoskeletal system. • Assist the members of the department with ongoing research projects, studies, manuscripts and chapter/textbook writing. • Participate in research meetings, seminars, journal clubs, symposiums and professional society meetings. Prerequisite Educational Level or Credentials • Recent medical graduates, residents, physicians and scientist interested in conducting basic science and clinical research in the field of orthopaedics. Description of Program (May include research projects, conferences and meetings). • The term of a Visiting Researcher will be either 6 months or 12 months. The Visiting Researcher will be working primarily on research interest on a self-directed basis with an emphasis on operative care (operative suite) and non-operative care (outpatient clinic office, inpatient and hospital care) assistance. • During the visiting research program at Cleveland Clinic in Florida candidates will demonstrate proficiency in the varied aspects of basic and clinical research including study design, IRB compliance, informed consent, data collection, data analysis, statistics, oral presentation, and manuscript preparation. • The researcher will be responsible for a minimum of one study to be completed for presentation at a local, regional, national or international research or professional society meeting and/or submission for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
