pashna23 ur Q???? - calmer - ArchivalUser - 06-10-2006

pashna...what is the correct answer to ur bleeding question...

factor x111 def is so rare that only 200 people worldwide have this.

MUCH MUCH greater chance if it related to 2nd hemostatis is factor v111 which could occur if she recieved paternal effected X and maternal carrier X.....
also in Goljan book most common clinical pres in neonate is bleeding problems related to circumcision and u cord seperation....

but also nenate is bleeding straight after ....so it sounds more like primary hemostasis problem....therefore platlets...so vWf.

Please clarify

sorry i mean that neonate could get factor 8 def caused by inactivation of more maternal than paternal X chromosomes..thus becoming homozygous for the abnormal X
