An alcoholic man is found unconscious on a park bench and is brought to the emergency room. He is found to have sweet smelling breath mixed with alcohol. Blood gas reveals a metabolic acidosis and chemistries reveal an osmolar gap. Ethylene glycol is suspected. What complication of ethylene glycol do you worry about as an ER physician?
