1. What is myxedema coma?
This a severe and life-threatening complication of hypothyroidism, usually presenting as altered mental status (obtundation, coma) with hypothermia, hyponatremia, hypoglycemia, bradycardia, hypotension and hypoventilation. TSH is very high and T4 is low or undetectable.

2. What are complications of thyroid hormone replacement (iatrogenic hyperthyroidism)?
Arrhythmias (tachycardia, atrial fibrillation), hyperdynamic myocardium, angina, nervousness, insomnia, osteoporosis, diarrhea, mania/hypomania and psychosis

3. What drugs are commonly associated with hypothyroidism?
Antithyroid drugs (propylthiouracil, methimazole, carbimazole, radioactive iodine), amiodarone, lithium, drugs increasing hepatic metabolism of T4 (phenytoin, carbamazepine and rifampin) and TSH inhibiting drugs (dopamine, octreotide, corticosteroids)

4. What are common signs/symptoms of hyperthyroidism (thyrotoxicosis)?
Nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, weight loss, hyperdefecation, heat intolerance, sweating, fine tremor, oligomenorrhea, proximal muscle weakness, warm and moist skin, fine hair, palpitations, tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, systolic hypertension, increased left ventricular wall thickness, increased temperature, osteoporosis (postmenopausal), lid lag, palmar erythema; proptosis, diplopia, periorbital edema, pretibial dermopathy/erythema, diffuse goiter with bruit (Grave’s disease); multinodular goiter

5. What is the most common cause of thyrotoxicosis?
Grave's disease
