answer is A. Acetazolamide inhibits carbonic anhydrase in the brush border and the intracellular carbonic anhydrase in the proximal convoluted tubule cells. It results in a bicarbonate diuresis, and a metabolic acidosis results. It is used to treat mountain sickness.
