with CLD on expects ammonia to be high therefore hydrogen ions will be buffered.....metabolic alkalosis>correct me if i am wrong

uw says although many types possible..respiratory alkalosis is MC due to progestrone effect on inc respiration

sith actually on further reading i came up with two scenarios
uncompensated cirhosissis is what i said-------->Resp alkalosis MC In hepatic encephalopathy ------->Metabolic alkaosis due to ammonia retentn

can you guys expl a little more about how retention of causes Res Acidosis. Looking for Mechanism of action. Thanks Guys

progesterone has a stimulatory effect on respiratiry center and so resultant tachypnea ensues resp alkalosis----------this is in chronic liver disease with alcoholic cirhosisi
But at the same time if there s hepatic encepalopathy with TIPPS done -->ammonia which is a base accumulates causing metabolic alkalosis |
