I have a confirmation e-mail,and also wrote to me to confirm my attendace.When should I confirm?

If you already have the date confirmed, it is a good idea for you to send them an e-mail within two weeks prior to the scheduled date, confirming your attendance. Some programs ask for this (as I think is you case) because they probably had problems in the past with people that simply don't show up without previously cancelling. So they get stuck and cannot invite another worthy candidate. It is just a courtesy.
