friends, what do you think about next year match (2008) ? Will it be as difficult as this year? What do yu think is the reason behind this year's heavy load of application? is it because of UK Drs coming more to US now? Do you think next year it will be more difficult or any different? Please share yr opinion here..

This season is as tough as last one...and the one before. The increase in applicants is probably not as striking as you think. This year people blame the UK situation, last year it was the delay due to the new CS policy...people always look reasons for quoting each season as "the hardest ever". Good luck next year.

No doubt it is going to be more competitive than last year, and may be worse.

next year will be tough again...
1)there is a cummulative effect from people not-matched in the previous years and also new grads applying 2)UK is closed 3)More awareness of USMLE in many parts of India and Asia etc etc...

life... is never easy. Those who expect for an easy one can never survive it... expect for the worst, and if by any chance you get somewhat better, consider yourself lucky... so yaa.. prepare yourself for the match.. be confident about it.. and you will ace it.. it's just a residency after all... not life..
